Making dinner~Fu Fu in Yabi-Kumasi

In the past when I have traveled to Ghana, my own children have had to stay in the United States. So when I am there, my brothers and sisters who are near the same ages as my own children, are ever present with me to remind me of children's noises and mischief. Yabi is a community type village, or small town. There are places to congregate, to buy necessities, and a beautiful church not far away where everyone worships on Sunday. My favorite times are at the family home. Everyone is relaxed. People from town visit, coming in and out sharing greetings.

Realizing #cleanwater is a global issues is one side of the issue. But in my life not only have I had my own life compromised while traveling, here in my own city of New Orleans, we've had 2 boil water alerts in 6 months. During Hurricane Isaac- my neighbors because of flooding did not have access to #cleanwater. Knowing how passionately I want to help address the issue of #cleanwater access, makes me feel even more helpless when situations arise that I am powerless to do something.
This week ampelonartist L3C was approved to become an OFFICIAL retailer of the Sawyer Products PointONE water filter. This exciting news means that we now carry a product that can help address the #cleanwater issue in the United States as we continue to develop our cooperative to begin ceramic water filter production in Kumasi. *The website will reflect new product on May 2, 2013.
With all the agencies and organizations that are dedicated to #cleanwater access and awareness, there continues to be an increase in the numbers of people who do not have access. Each and every one of us reading this blog knows someone in the 6-12 months that have had #cleanwater issues, if not ourselves directly. My belief if that while we look to help ourselves get #cleanwater, we should help others. But I also created products, so that I could give something back to people who are touched to make a difference. #Cleanwater is coming soon! For ALL! There's no stopping it! The time has come! And thank all of you for supporting the #cleanwatermovement!
