An exciting year moving closer to #cleanwater & new opportunities

Waking up to the reality of lack of #cleanwater and #safesanitation access shoke me to the core of everything I believed in another life. Reflecting on it with the eyes of a mother I think what it must be like to not be able to have #cleanwater for my children. Every day girls are trained for a life of gathering #cleanwater for every day use. Water that comes from water supplies that are untreated. Water that many times makes children sick and can kill them.

In 2007 I started thinking of how I could use the cultural arts to help communities access #cleanwater and #safesanitation. Here it is 2014 and it finally seems close to reality. These years having been a journey of discovery. Learning the critical impacts this global problem is making and innovating how cultural arts will make a difference. As this blog is a witness, there have been ups and downs. But still moving toward #cleanwater4ALL!

nana afia's ART EXPO has been making handmade products for 3 years now. Sharing on this blog the innovations, disappointments, hopes and successes! It's been another year for fashion. A year of innovation in my natural hair and skin care products. Another year of art. And research and development in uses for ceramic technologies for water filtration, waste management and even implications for uses in nuclear waste cleanup! Truly it has been an amazing year although I've not been sharing in the blogasphere!

It has been amazing to see this blog has reached around the world! My dream, my vision from the beginning has been to create beautiful, quality hand-made cultural products and art, to be a catalyst for helping communities, PEOPLE, access #cleanwater and #safesanitation. Along the way I created some amazing products that add to making the world a more beautiful, sustainable place for us all to live!
