Won't start from day one

I want this blog to be about the future. Not the past so the first blog will address the past and leave it. Micheal and I met in 2006 when I traveled to Ghana for a cultural immersion with my graduate school, Virginia Union University. I was in my senior year of seminary and he was a street vendor, or "Hawker" as they're known there. Our pan-African theological discussions led to a marriage proposal and in 2007 I returned for our traditional Ashanti wedding in Tanaso-Kumasi, Ghana.

Since then we have started a shop in Kokrobite Beach-Accra and are looking to change the world with art, commerce and community engagements. I live in New Orleans, La and sell our cultural art products in markets in the city and will be at the National Black Festival in Atlanta, Georgia July 14-17, 2011. We have exciting cultural art products! And we LOVE sharing our cultural heritage with you!

Micheal in the streets of Ghana is known as Black Africa and I am known as nana afia. We have not seen each other, person to person, since our wedding. I have planned to travel to Ghana this November for the First Annual Kumasi International Black Art and Culture Festival. Maybe we'll see you there!

This blog is to share our mission and make new friends who believe the world CAN be a better place.
